Women revealed this in exclusive interviews carried out by our reporter during his visit to Buhara and Kamuganguzi subcounties in Kabale district.
The Buhara Sub County Community Development Officer Liberty Kesande Ngabirano said that her office receives at least five cases of domestic violence weekly.
Now, Women including Violet Tumuheirwe, a resident of Rwiraguju in Bugarama parish, Fortunate Niwamanya of Kabanyonyi in Kafunjo parish, Allen Night parish and Allen Atuheire both from Muyebe, say that husbands always sell off agricultural products like sorghum and animals like pigs to get money to take to bars.
The women claim that whenever they ask them, it results into fights adding that men should be educated on how to always harmonize with the wives.
The Forum for Women in Democracy Kabale branch field officer, Dorothy Kesiime Naturinda said that the project intends to advocate for improved resourcing and implementation of policies and programs that enhance peace and security for women and children.
