Upon spotting security, the rider abandoned his motorcycle and fled.
The motorcycle was then seized and brought to the Ishasha UPDF barracks for inspection. Upon checking, the security officers discovered government drugs hidden in a polythene bag.
The items found included five tins of Panadol, one tin of Chloramphenicol, and two boxes of Cortem Lumartem.
Lt. Turyamureba confirmed that the owner of the motorcycle was identified as Kyokwijuka George, a boda boda rider, who stated that Musinguzi Alex had hired his motorcycle on that day to transport the box containing the drugs.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, stated that the suspects were handed over to Kihihi Police Station by the UPDF, along with the drugs.
Maate added that statements have been recorded, the exhibits documented, and the suspects remain in custody pending further investigations.
