KIRUHURA DISTRICT: 5 ARRESTED INCLUDING EGYPTIAN NATIONAL FOR BRUTAL MURDER OF THREE YEAR OLD CHILD

Kiruhura District police have detained five suspects, including an Egyptian national, in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of a three-year-old boy in what is suspected to be a case of child sacrifice.

The victim, Alinda Medard, a resident of Kabushere 3 in Kashongi County, was reported missing on January 7, 2025. Tragically, his body was discovered on saturday in a latrine in omukatogo Cell, wrapped in a sack.

According to a press statement by SP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Police spokesperson, witnesses reported case on the day of his disappearance, unidentified individuals in a black Toyota Wish with unidentified number plates lured the child with sweets before abducting him.

The suspects in custody have been identified as Tobias Bimanywensi, Sharon Kyogabirwe, Rose Namuluma, and Mohamoud Mbufu, an Egyptian national. Police have stated that the suspects are assisting in ongoing investigations.
