Christians of Lift up Jesus church Rubuguru in Kisoro district are in great joy after their church has been reopened.
The church was closed on 8th March 2021 after the then acting pastor Daniel Muresan developed misunderstanding with Bishop Aloysius Kiza the overseer of Lift up Jesus global ministries.
It is alleged that the Pastor dismissed Batwa worshipers from the Rubuguru based church underrating them as the illiterate class.
It is also alleged that in 2018, while in church service, the same pastor refused to introduce and handover the microphone to Bishop Aloysius Kiza which annoyed the worshipers.
It was this discrimination that led to the closure of the church.
The church was yesterday 2nd April 2021 amidst joy and happiness from Christians especially the Batwa reopened after one month of closure.
Bishop Aloysius Kiza the overseer of lift up global ministries said that their desire was to have the church reopened during Christmas but they failed.
He added that they are ready to have mediation with the accused provided he promises to stop his bias and discrimination.
