MASINDI GENERAL HOSPITAL RUNS OUT OF COVID-19 VACCINE

Masindi General Hospital has run out of COVID 19 vaccines as the pandemic continues to spread widely.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, Dr. Patrick Baguma Masindi District Health Officer noted that there is high number of people turning up for vaccination at the health facility.
“People are turning up in big numbers for immunization; unfortunately we have run out of the vaccines,” he noted.
The health officer has however revealed that other health Centres in rural areas still have the vaccines. He has therefore appealed to the community for mean time to get vaccinated in other health centres.
“I’m working tooth and nail to ensure we get vaccines since it’s on high demand.” He revealed.
Dr. Baguma has appealed to the community to be vigilant and observe the Standard Operating Procedures to contain the spread of corona virus.
The health expert noted that they are applying iron hand for the community to observe the Standard Operating Procedures in public places including; market places, hospitals, schools and others.
Masindi district has 14 active cases of corona virus; two are getting treatment at Hoima regional referral hospital. Since the pandemic broke out last year in Uganda, Masindi district has 75 cases of corona virus and two deaths.
