The minister for general duties in the office of the prime minister Canon Mary Karoro Okurutu has announced her bid to stand again for Bushenyi district woman parliamentary seat in 2021.
The electoral commission launched the strategic plan and road map for the 2021 general elections on Tuesday December 11th at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The unveiled road map indicated that the polls for president, parliament as well as local government will be conducted between January 11th and February 9th 2021 and that a sum of Shs. 868.14 billion is required to facilitate the process.
So far, three women who include Annet Katusiime Mugisha, Adrine Kobusingye, and former contestant Mary Kabesiime Babeiha are anticipated to join the race for the Bushenyi district woman parliamentary seat although none has officially announced her bid.
Now, Karoro who is the incumbent on Saturday 29th said that she has no plans to step down but quickly added that it is too early for politics because early politicking diverts people from work.
Karoro who was addressing members of the press in Bushenyi district at her home unveiling her New Year 2019 work plan said, it is the mandate of electorates to either re-elect her or elect someone else of their choice.
In her New Year message, Minister Karooro cautioned Bushenyi district natives to be security cautious and observe laws so as to maintain security that has been observed with the district in this year 2018.
She also warned youth against overnight prayers saying it is good to pray but implored them to do what is good for them and leave what will finish their life.
