In Mitooma—
The Mitooma district council has ordered the district security committee to investigate the operation of NIRA offices following the public’s outcry over misconduct in the office.
The issue was raised during a council meeting by the district Chairperson Benon Karyeija; that people from different places bring him complaints that they are mistreated whenever they go for services at NIRA offices and are not even worked on.
Greenford Mucuunguzi the Mitooma district Deputy Speaker noted that this has been a persistent problem and these officers must be disciplined, if it means transferring them let them be transferred.
However, Judith Bakyaala Nkuba the district councilor representing the elderly noted that these people need to first be handed over to the security committee to investigate about the matter before deciding to transfer them.
The council therefore through the speaker gave the task to the security committee.
Speaking after the meeting, the Mitooma district RDC Francis Kibuka Amooti who is the head of security committee promised to make clear investigation and give a clear report to the council if there is a need for transfer.
