The Member of Parliament for Buhweju County in Buhweju District Hon Francis Mwijukye shocked mourners today on 5th August 2025 at the burial of his mother in law in central division Bushenyi District That her mother in law borrowed him money to pay dowry to the over principled father in law because he didn’t have the money at the time.
Hon Mwijukye noted that had it not been his mother in law it wouldn’t have been possible to marry dear his wife Linus Mwijukye.
He went ahead to say that when he approached his father in law that he wanted to marry his daughter but didn’t have dowry, Mzee kayano told him that he hadn’t finished paying loans for university fees for his daughter whom he wanted to marry.
At this point that is when the go between Celestine Twinomugisha the H/M St kagwa boarding p/s brought the money from his late mother in law and handed it over to the over principled father in law Mzee Kasiyano.
He added that the family of Kasiyano Mpora tolerated him with his highest level of poverty and allowed him to be their son in law.
The only son among the five children Mr.Casbert Tukundane told mourners in the eulogy of the children that his late mother used to challenge him a lot by encouraging him to work harder and he wouldn’t at any point in time praise him.
The high profile burial was attended by many people from all walks of life and among them are four district chairmen of Buhweju, Mbarara , Bushenyi and isingiro. Local leaders who were present included his worship the Mayor Busheyi- Ishaka Municipality,Woman Member of Parliament Bushenyi District ,NRM Flag bearer Hon Annet katusiime Mugisha ,Her Challenger Kemigisha Nyamunyonyi among others.
