MPS WARNED ON AGE LIMIT BILL

MPs have been urged to consult the public on controversial bills like land and presidential age limit before rushing to pass them in parliament.
The call was made by Hon. John Tugweziire the former member of constitutional assembly during the launch of the baseline for the 10th parliament watch bulletin at Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort portal municipality.
Hon. Miria Matembe the civil rights activist accused President M7 of becoming selfish and dictator.
The meeting was also attended by the RDC Kabarole; Steven Asiimwe, who responded to some issues that were raised by panelists.
The presidential age limit bill is expected to be tabled in parliament this afternoon. Meanwhile, police assured of heavy deployment at parliament, something that has been condemned by civil society organizations and individuals.
Members of parliament especially from the opposition yesterday blocked the age limit to debate due to heavy deployment outside al debate as they kept singing the national anthem at their high voice until the speaker Kadaga postponed the plenary session to today 27th Spt.2017 at 2:30 PM.
