The president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned to cancel trading licence of whoever hikes prices of foods in this trying time of Corona virus.
Musevei warned those he termed as Crooks while giving his 4th address on Corona virus which was channeled through media platforms yesterday at 4:00 pm.
Museveni noted that he will send his spies into towns and if they find anybody hiking the prices of foods, they will cancel his or her trade licence then ban him or her from trading in Uganda.
His remarks come at a time traders have started increasing prices of commodities claiming that taxes have also been increased.
He wondered how some one can increase prices of beans ,Posho and rice, crops which are produced here in the country adding that Uganda is still a fortunate country since no death has been reported.
He further noted that he may organise NRM cadres to bring these foods from villages and send them directly to towns so that Ugandans can forget about this bunch of crooks.
He advised Ugandans who cannot afford sanitisers not to burden themselves buying them noting that even ordinary soap and clean water can also serve the same purpose of killing the virus.
He emphasized on Ugandans prohibiting contacts with people who cough, sneeze ,taking washing of their hands so serious and avoiding sitting in groups as ways of protecting themselves from the virus.
