The Rwampara District Health Officer Dr. Allan Twesigyomwe has cleared the air on the beds which were allegedly found missing at Mwizi health centre III in Rwampara district.
The In charge of Mwizi health centre III Fredrick Byanyima was on 24th Fe.2021 arrested over lack of accountability for the government property.
Byanyima was arrested on the orders of the Resident District commissioner (RDC) Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi after 6 beds and their mattresses valued at 7.3 Million shillings could not be traced at the health facility.
In an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com today 27th Feb.2021, the RDC Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi noted that the Rwampara DHO Dr. Allan Twesigyomwe reported to Mwizi police station that the missing beds were transferred to Kinoni Health center IV where there was a health emergency.
“The two contradicted each other, the in charge notes that the items were available by the time of the audit while the DHO says the items were taken to Kinoni Health center IV,”Katera revealed.
Katera however said that on Monday 1st .March.2021, the security team will escort the DHO to Kinoni Health center IV to confirm whether the beds and their mattresses are indeed at the health facility.
He noted that Byanyima will have to remain in police cells since police are still carrying out their investigations into the matter.
