PANIC AS MASAKA KILLERS EXTEND THREATENING LEAFLETS TO RUKUNGIRI

Panic is high among residents of Kisharara cell,Rubanga parish, Buyanja sub county Rukungiri District after unknown elements dropped leaflets threatening to kill people within the area.
According to the Buyanja Sub County LC III Chairperson Agaba Emmy Rubondo, the leaflets which carry messages written in Luganda, were first seen by juveniles who took them to their guardian, who also reported to the area LC 1 leader Kakooko January
The leaflets warn residents against returning home late and also threatens to cut off heads of people including an-unidentified LC 1 leader in Buyanja sub county, Kebisoni Sub County and others in Nyabiteete Parish.
Emmy Rubondo has however urged residents to stay calm, adding that he has already notified the district security committee about the issue.
He also appealed to authorities to speed up the process of addressing the issue so that the terrified residents can be calm, adding that it is the responsibility of everyone to be vigilant for security purposes and to report any suspicious elements within their areas.
Rubondo said that despite the threatening leaflets, residents should retreat home in time in respect to curfew which was put in place to check the spread of COVID 19
Panga wielding men who have terrorized Masaka for some time, killing over 30 people have since last week been dropping threatening leaflets in Western and South western districts of Bushenyi, Mbarara, Rukungiri among others.
