The Deputy Speaker of Parliament and legislator from Ruhinda North, Mitooma district Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has revealed that the research he has carried out so far about the dissemination of information about the Parish Development Model by the Parish Chiefs in Ruhinda North and other areas is poisonous.
The Rt Hon Deputy Speaker said this a short while ago today 25th May 2022 at Mitooma District Headquarters during a sensitization meeting of LC1, LC2 ,LC3 chairpersons and other leaders on how they should participate in the parish Development Model.
Tayebwa noted that parish chiefs need vigorous training as quick as possible in order for the Parish Model program to be successful in Mitooma District and other districts.
“I attended a meeting yesterday in my constituency concerning the Parish Development Model and I was shocked by that particular parish chief,” The Rt Hon. Speaker told a well-attended and attentive meeting.
Training for Parish Chiefs and Agricultural Officers ended last week and this week is for implementation and sensitization of communities about the program.
Parish Development Model is a Program that started this financial year 2021/ 2022 and from FY 2022/ 2023 each parish will get 100 million.
The parish Development Model sensitization program is ongoing in every parish in Uganda and according to research done by Mknewslink managing Editor , the Parish chiefs were not equipped with enough knowledge and skills to run the program.
