Bushenyi district has launched Parish Development Model with 70% of the funds already disbursed to the beneficiaries.
The official launch of the programe took place yesterday 18th March 2023 at the district headquarters.
Minister of local government Rapheal Magyezi who officiated at the launch clarified that every sub county has received a total of 33million shillings and they look forward to making it 100 million shillings by June.
Rosemary Atuhaire the deputy RDC warned that the money is not a token as most of the Ugandans assume but a loan that must be paid back.
She noted that as the office of the RDC, they will move from one Parish Development Sacco to another monitoring their performance.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba, the Bushenyi district chairman raised a concern that some of the beneficiaries receiving the funds don’t qualify as per the guidelines.
He also warned banks involved in the programe against high charges on clients advising the beneficiaries to report such institutions to the district for action.
The Deputy National coordinator PDM Hon. Joveline Karisa noted that the Ugx 1 million shillings given to every beneficiary of the 39% very poor people in the country is not a token from president Museveni.
She added that the money is repayable to the Parish Sacco within 2 years with 6% interest.
The CAO Rubirizi faced it rough when the minister of local government condemned him for not releasing the Ugx 250,000 shillings per Parish for facilitation allowance for the 3 quarters.
Sources from the parish development model secretariat told www.mknewslink.com that the CAO is not a corruptible man only that he misinterpreted the guidelines.
The secretariat assigned Julius Kapwepwe as a technical advisor/ officer to sort out Rubirizi district with the incorruptible CAO who has worked for 33 years in government.
