POLITICIANS HAVE TURNED MORE CORRUPT THAN CIVIL SERVANTS–M7

President YK Museveni has revealed that unlike some time back when government technical staffs were corrupt, politicians have now also joined the racket and are more corrupt than the technical staff.
President Museveni said this on Monday night at the state house Entebbe while Presiding over the launch of the book Uganda’s March to Industrialization (1986-2040) authored by Minister Karoro Okurut who is also Woman Mp Bushenyi District.
He told investors who were in attendance that they should whisper to the ambassadors whenever any politician asks for a bribe from them.
“You investors whisper to your ambassadors when any politician or technical staff asks a bribe from you,” Museveni said.
He also noted that he doesn’t believe in vision 2040 because Uganda cannot have more 20 years sleeping saying that the success of the country’s economy should begin now rather than waiting for vision2020.
In her speech, Minister Karoro hailed President Museveni for conducive environment which has led to faster industrialization of Uganda.
She noted that in 1986 NRM government inherited a dead economy without industries but currently, there are many industries. According to Museveni, the economy of Uganda is growing at 6.92%.
Also in her speech, the minister of trade industry and cooperatives Ameria Kyambade hailed minister Karoro for the book she authored which is about industrialization of Uganda and that it will help the ministry to succeed.
Minister Karoro noted that the book costs 100,000= shillings and 50% of the proceeds will go to Mary Karoro Okurut foundation which will be used to skill the youth under the presidential initiative on skilling the youth and women.
