POPE FRANCIS COMMENDS REV FR KIIZA LUCAS FOR SACRIFICING TO SERVE THE CHURCH

Pope Francis has commended Rev Fr Justus Lucas Kiiza the Parish Priest of Nyamwegabira catholic Parish in Kabale Diocese Kanungu District for his sacrifice in serving as a priest for 25 years.
Pope Francis’s massage delivered on Sunday July 21st 2024, by Bishop Callistus Rubaramira of Kabale Diocese at Rev Fr Kiiza Lucus’ 25th year’s anniversary celebrations and thanksgiving in Priesthood that took place at Nyamwegabira Parish in Kihihi Town Council, Makiro Deanery in Kanungu.
Pope Francis says that priesthood is a calling to whoever takes it up is sacrificing worldly things to serve the Almighty Father in heaven you ensuring that the world is a better place to live in because priests are called by God .
While speaking at the same function Rev Fr Kiiza Lucas Justus who is the Parish Priest of Nyamwegabira Parish thanked Bishop Rubaramira for honouring his invitation and other invited guests and hailed people of Nyamwegabira Parish for welcoming and loving him as a servant of God.
A substantial amount of money was raised during the Holy Mass and Rev Fr Kiiza started with Ugx 10 million at his thanksgiving which it was aimed at upgrading a Theater at Nyamwegabira Health Center III Kanungu District.
Henry Musasizi The Minister of State Minister for Finance (General Duties) hailed the church for being a partner in social development and said that the construction of a Theatre at Nyamwegabira will go a long in improving the health wellbeing if the people in the community and thanked Rev Fr Kiiza for identifying the project for his thanksgiving ceremony.
Musasizi also said that the government of Uganda has finalized plans to tarmac Hamurwa – Kereere – Kanungu road to connect it with the already completed Kanungu – Kihihi – Rukungiri Road and revealed that in the same project, Government will tarmack Kanyantoroogo – Butogota – Ruhiija – Kerere – Rubanda road to ease transport in the region.
Musasizi, urged unemployed youths in Kanungu District to explore opportunities in sectors such as transport, hotel, and tourism , emphasizing the government’s focus on these sectors for job and wealth creation.
The colorful ceremony which was spiced traditional music was attended by Kinkizi West Member of Parliament James Ruuggi Kaberuka, Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament Kinshaba Patience Nkunda, Ndorwa East Member of Parliament Niwagaba Winfred, Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament Dr Nicholas Kamara and the NRM National Deputy Treasurer Jacqueline Kyatuheire , Col Emmy Katabazi the Deputy Director of Internal security officer –ISO .
At the function, a total of Ugx 247,112,700 million was raised in cash and pledges, along with 125 bags of cement, to support the establishment and equipping of an operating theater at Nyamwegabira Health Centre III in Nyamwegabira Catholic Parish, Kanungu District.
