RUBANDA DISTRICT ENGINEER UNDER FIRE OVER SHODDY WORK

The Acting Rubanda District Engineer Denis Twesigomwe is under fire from leaders in Rubanda East County over alleged shoddy work on the rehabilitation of Bugongi- Bwindi-Butambi road.
The rehabilitation of a 14 kilo meter road, worth 30 million shillings connects Nyamweru Sub County to Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga district.
The works being executed by Rubanda district works department with the Acting Rubanda District Engineer as a supervisor were supposed to expand it, carryout spot murraming in sleepy areas and install culverts where they are needed.
However, Justus Kakwenza Owoyesiga, the district councilor for Nyamweru Sub County and the Nyamweru Sub County chairman David Karindugu say that the Engineer did not install culverts as well as expanding it yet he claims that he completed the works in some areas.
They also say that he did not carry out spot murraming in sleepy areas as agreed by the roads committee.
When contacted, Twesigomwe told www.mknewslink.com that the leaders are rushing to conclude yet the activities are yet to be completed.
