The Rubanda district Chairman Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema yesterday Monday picked NRM party nomination forms confirming his interest to contest against his long-term rival Henry Musasizi in the NRM party primaries.
Biryabarema picked the nomination forms at exactly 11:30am yesterday at the NRM Electoral Commission Offices Plot 13 Kyadondo road Kampala, after paying the 2 million shillings’ mandatory fee requirement.
Biryabarema is hopeful to unseat Hon Henry Musasizi who is seeking his third term as the Rubanda East Member of Parliament.
Speaking to the press shortly after picking the forms, Biryabarema asked his electorates to remain calm and avoid politics of segregation on lines of religion or political affiliations but rather embrace development for the betterment of their communities and the district.
Relatedly, the Rubanda district vice chairperson Pastori Twinomuhangi also picked nomination forms expressing his interest to run for the Rubanda district Chairperson seat and hold NRM flag in the next year’s party primaries.
Twinomuhangi also paid the mandatory one million shillings fee requirement. He also picked the forms at exactly 11:30am. Twinomuhangi is contesting with Stephen Kasyaba, Musasizi’s diehard.
Last Saturday, while meeting village funeral associations (Bataka Twezikye Groups) in Kerere Mpungu Hamurwa Sub County Rubanda district, the Rubanda East Member of Parliament Hon Henry Musasizi ordered his electorates to never vote him back to Parliament if they don’t want to vote Stephen Kasyaba.
