RUKUNGIRI ARMY OFFICER DIES AFTER BAR FIGHT

Rukungiri army officer has died after being involved and beaten in a fight that broke out in a bar.

The deceased was identified as Edwin Masiko aged 30 a resident of kyabugashe village Rushasha parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County, Rukungiri district, an army officer attached to Kaabong army barracks in Kaabong district.

It is alleged that on 24^th Sept 2019 at around 8:30pm, Edwin got involved in a fight with one Monday Ivan and Danson Mbabazi of the same residence in the bar at kyabugashe trading centre and sustained severe injuries around the head and the back.

He was rushed to Nyakibale hospital and later referred to Mbarara referral hospital where he was pronounced dead on the 27^th Sep 2019.

However, Steven Tusingwire a relative to Edwin reported the case to Rukungiri Police station and Inquiries were immediately initiated as well as hunting for the suspects on the run.

Police and a team of Detectives visited the Scene, carried out postmortem and inquiries are underway.
