RUKUNGIRI MAN HITS FELLOW DEAD FOR ALLEGEDLY SLEEPING WITH HIS WIFE

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a man suspected to have killed a 45 year old fellow for allegedly sleeping with his wife.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson identified the suspect as Richard Tumwebonire of Bunyinya Village, Kitimba Parish Nyakagyeme Sub County.

It is alleged that Tumwebonire waylaid the deceased Musinguzi Robert a resident of Kabura Village, Kabwooma Parish, Nyakagyeme sub county Rukungiri district and hit him with a wood.

Maate told www.mknewslink.com that on the 16th January 2022 at around 1800hrs, the deceased was escorting home Agnes Ahimbisibwe a wife to the suspect when he (suspect) hit him with wood on the fore face leaving him unconscious and bleeding.

On receiving the information, Enid Malimasi wife to the deceased rushed him to a clinic at Kasoroza trading center and a case of assault was reported at Nyakagyeme police station.

The deceased was later referred to Nyakibale hospital and to Mbarara regional referral hospital where he died from.

Maate added that the body was picked back to the deceased’s home and as burial arrangements were underway the police at CPS Rukungiri got the information.

He said that the deceased’s body was taken to Rwakabengo Health Center III  Mortuary for a postmortem examination and the case of murder was registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 049/2022 to help in investigations.

He revealed that the wife of the suspect has been arrested as they hunt for the suspect.
