RUKUNGIRI MAN ON RUN AFTER KILLING BROTHER IN COLD BLOOD

Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which a 40 year old man killed his biological brother.

According to Kigezi Regional police Spokesperson Elly Maate, the deceased Nuwagaba Robert 36 years, resident of Katenga Cell, Nyibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub in Rukungiri district was allegedly killed by his brother Mpora Benon a 40 year, resident of the same address.

It’s alleged that on the 22/08/2021 at around 2100hrs, while the two brothers returned home from Nyibingo trading centre, they had a quarrel which led to a fight and the suspect overpowered his brother.

The suspect grabbed the brother’s neck and used the new Panga he had just bought from the trading Centre to cut him on the neck.

The police PRO narrated that the deceased started bleeding furiously and made an alarm which attracted residents who rushed him to the nearby clinic.

“They tried to rush him to Damson’s Clinic in Kebisoni trading Centre for First Aid where he was pronounced dead before he was attended to,”Maate said.

Police visited the scene, picked the body and took it to Rwakabengo Health Center III pending postmortem.

Inquiries are at hand as the hunt for the suspect is on since he is on run.
