SECURITY GUARD SHOOTS, INJURES BODABODA CYCLIST IN KISORO

Police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances under which a 19 year old man was shot and injured by a security guard.

The victim identified as Abel Nzabanita a boda boda rider of motorcycle reg number UEX 512 G bajaj boxer was shot on the night of 24/06/19 at around 23:00 hours at BAJ petrol station at Nyiragakoro Nyakabande along Kisoro Kabale highway by Albert Beingana a security guard attached to Maestro securitycompany.

 It’s alleged that a man identified as  Amosi Njirabakunza a boda cyclist came for fuel at the station but  found pump attendant off for a short call, decided to  serve himself which forced the askari out of his hiding place to intervene.

According to the Kigezi region police mouth piece Elly Maate, when the askari asked Amosi the reason for his action,   boda cyclists including the victim came in to cause commotion and violence thus the askari had to shot injuring the victim from the back.

Maate said that the victim was rushed to Mutolere hospital where is in stable condition.

Police visited the scene; the askari and Amosi Njirabakunza were arrested, to help in investigations.
