Police in Masindi district during the weekend shot and injured a 32 year old man who attempted to rob the Masindi district planner, Godfrey Magezi, in Bubanda Village Bwijanga sub county Masindi district.
According to the District police Commander Masindi, Samuel Odongo, Godfrey Magezi the district planner Masindi district local government was attacked during the weekend by one Hannington Kaganda while he was going to pay his workers in his farm in Bubanda village Bwijanga Sub County.
Odongo added that Kaganda attacked Magezi with a bow and arrows and ordered him to surrender whatever he had or be killed. He also said that by that time Magezi had 2 million shillings a motorcycle and National ID which he surrendered for fear for his life. Odongo also said that they have learnt that Magezi and Kaganda have a grudge over land.
Odongo added that after the incident, Magezi reported the incident to Ntooma police post which in turn forced police officers to go and effect arrest adding when they reached at Kagada’s home they found him with all the properties he had robbed from Mageziamd that he was also found in possession of opium.

He revealed that currently Hannington is in the hands of police and is admitted at Masindi main hospital under police’s supervision adding that cases of threatening violence and Robbery have been preferred on him.
When our reporter asked the DPC to comment on the fate of the officer who disabled Kaganda, he explained that a general enquiry file was opened against the officers who effected the arrest saying that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
