TAUSI BUS DRIVER DIES, SCORES INJURED IN LYANTONDE ACCIDENT

In Lyantonde—

One person has been confirmed dead in a fatal accident that happened along Mbarara-Masaka High Way.

According to ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police mouthpiece, the fatal accident happened today at around 06AM at Kyapa Lyantonde Mbarara road.

It involved a TAUSI bus Registration number UBK 516S and a FUSO lorry Registration number UBD193P loaded with sugar that was heading to Mbarara city.

Kasasira said that the driver of the bus Identified as Ntifayo Siraji died instantly and the driver of the FUSO escaped from the scene of the accident.

He added that the driver of the FUSO driver was trying to overtake a wish car and never recognized that there is a corner ahead

The PRO said that all the occupants of the Bus survived with minor injuries

The victims were later evacuated and taken to Lyantonde Hospital mortuary with the body of the deceased too.

Kasasira noted that the two vehicles are still at the accident scene awaiting breakdown.
