THREE TEACHERS SENT TO PRISON OVER EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES

In Kampala-
Three secondary school teachers have been remanded for allegedly participating in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), examination malpractices.
The accused persons are Mr Rajab Abdu Matovu, the director of Studies High Way College Kiganda in Mityana District, Mr Joseph Kabogoza, an Entrepreneurship teacher at the same school and Mr Nixon Winjira, a teacher at Saint Henry’s Namugongo.
They appeared before Buganda Road Magistrates Court that was presided over by Mr Robert Mukanza.
Upon denying the charges, Mr Mukanza remanded them to Luzira Prison and adjourned the case to July 5th.
Prosecution contends that Matovu and others still at large between November 20, 2018 and December 4, 2018 within Kampala and Wakiso districts using WhatsApp on a mobile phone, knowingly or negligently, revealed the contents of UACE Uganda National Examination Board papers of Entrepreneurship, computer and Luganda to a one Kabogoza, who was an unauthorized person.
It is further alleged that Matovu revealed the same exams to a one Ivan Katumba, another unauthorised person.
