The Rwampara District Chief administrative officer Steven Rubeihayo and thee Production Officer Athanasious Gumisiriza are yet to record a statement over missing Parish Development model funds.
The duo were arrested on Monday on the orders of Rwampara Resident District Commissioner Jane Asiimwe Muhindo for allegedly embezzling Parish development model funds.
The two were dragged to Nyeihanga Police station where by press time were still in the cells waiting to record their statements.
Their arrest came after the PDM meeting convened at Rwampara District Headquarters in Kinoni by the RDC Jane Asiimwe Muhindo .
In the same meeting, it was found out that there was misappropriation of PDM money totalling to Ugx.35 million.
Richard Owomugasho, the Rwampara District LC5 Chairman asserted that Ugx. 35 million was meant for sensitization and mobilization of house holds and data collection in Parishes of Rwampara district.
According to the information obtained by this publication , it has been revealed that the Production Officer presented a fake report in the meeting indicating that he wired UGX.35 million on the accounts of Ndeija sub county to support the parish chiefs and data collectors in the same sub county.However the parish chiefs and data collectors say they have never received any money from the district.
Owomugasho added that over 7.8million shillings which also meant for Parish development model,the CAO claims it was stack in Kinoni, kiruhura District but up to now has not been traced.
The RDC Rwampara district,Asiimwe Jane Muhindo added that during the registeration of groups,some civil servants would ask for 34000 shillings for each group to be registered and yet the CAO knew about it and never did anything.
However the RDC urged the people to embrass parish development model so to increase on their house hold income.
