By Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante
Manfred Muhumuza a resident of Ishaka division Bushenyi ishaka municipality has attached municipal bank accounts in DFCU Ishaka such that he takes all the money that is there and that deposited(garnishing).
On Friday,6th March 2020,the deputy registrar Amos Kwizera issued a garnish order to Bushenyi Ishaka municipal council account in DFCU bank Ishaka branch.
Manfred has served the municipal authorities with a garnish order which means that all the money in the account cannot be accessed by municipality as it has to cover the debt the municipality owes Manfred following court costs.
William Makune the municipal town clerk told www.mknewslink.com in an exclusive interview that he has not seen the garnish order because he is in Mbarara though he has been told that it has been submitted to his office.
He noted that he would act accordingly if he receives the order.
Mbarara high court deputy registrar had given a green light to court brokers of best associated auctioneers and court bailiff to sell the popular Kabagarame pork market, residential house of the town clerk among others to pay Manfred after winning a land case against the municipality.
The order was later rejected by residents in a protest which forced parliament to intervene and the order had to be recalled.
