The territorial police of Rukiga are investigating circumstances surrounding the murder of two juveniles.
According to the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson ASP. Elly Maate, the deceased are Mackline Amumpaire 14 years and Vincent Akandwanaho 10 years.
Maate said both pupils are from Kiholizo primary school and biological children of Regina Turinawe and Bernard Rushijja residents of Rutoma cell Nyakagabagaba parish Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that the mother of the children started receiving several threats from one Alban after he was fired by a certain man who had employed him in his banana plantation and instead replaced him with the mother of the two deceased juveniles.
On Tuesday 18th October 2022, she lost a relative in Wachebe village within Kyerero sub county where together with her husband left for burial, leaving the two juveniles at home and only returning on 20th October 2022 at around 4:00pm they found them in bed lifeless.
They made an alarm which attracted the neighbors and other members of the public including the sub county chairperson Hon. Eddie Mugisha who accordingly alerted the Police.
A team led by D/ASP. Mbahimba Williams OC CID responded and established that they were hit on their heads with small hoes which were there.
Two suspects including Alban were arrested to aid police in investigations, although he had been badly beaten and now admitted in Mbaro health centre under guard.
