UGANDA POLICE OPEN UP EMERGENCY CALL CENTRE IN MBARARA

Uganda Police have opened up a new call Centre at Mbarara central police station in Mbarara city, Rwizi region.
Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region Police spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that the call Centre will serve districts from the four regions of ; Rwizi ,Greater Bushenyi, Kigezi and Rwenzori East.
He added that so far training of 12 officers from the four regions commenced yesterday after which they will start to operate.
Kasasira noted that the training headed by SP Moses Ekudot from the Directorate of ICT Police Headquarters is preparing the officers for the task ahead of them.
He revealed that the call Centre will be operational 24 hours a day with a toll free number 999 for all networks at zero cost.
He said that this will help Members of the Public to reach out to Police for timely responses to incidents and emergencies within the regions.
He however warned the public against giving false information to police, adding that they will deal in accordance to the law with whoever does so.
