WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING FROM PATIENTS, ATTENDANTS AT HOIMA REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL

Police in Hoima are holding a woman for allegedly storming Hoima regional referral Hospital and stole property belonging to patients and attendants in the maternity and Kangaroo wards.
ASP Julius Hakiza Allan, the Albertine regional Police spokesman identified the suspect as Lillian Kyarimpa, 25, a resident of Rwengabi cell in Kabwoya sub county Kikuube district.
Kyarimpa stole property including clothes and shoes from maternity ward and Kangaroo ward in the broad daylight.
Hakiza said that she is suspected to be a habitual thief who always operates with others on the run who play the role of spying as she enters in the wards to steal.
Akugiziibwe, one of the attendants says that they realized that their property had been stolen when Kyarimpa who was pretending as an attendant of a discharged mother went out which prompted them to follow her up.
Upon reaching the hospital gate, they found her with a bag trying to escape with it and arrested her.
They handed her to Hoima central police station.
Hakiza says, Kyarimpa will be taken to court and charged with theft.
Police have been receiving complaints of theft at the same hospital although they were yet to register any case in their books.
