Yellow fever scare in Ntungamo district: Five people with similar signs pass on

Residents in Ruhaama Sub County are leaving under fear of possible yellow fever out break after 5 persons including 4 children died in one month with signs comparable to those of yellow fever.
All the five who died recently were residents of Rwamwire parish in Ruhaama sub county and according to residents, the victims died while breeding from the nose and vomiting and passing blood in urine and feaces which are signs of yellow fever.
Three children between the ages 5 and 12 have died in just less than a month in Rwamwire parish The Ruhaama health centre III in charge Mr. Frank Byamukama however says there have not been a case of yellow fever so far registered at the health centre but medics are investigating the cause of such deaths.
The district health officer Dr. Richard Bakamuturaki also says that there have been several reports of suspected yellow fever in different parts of the district however samples collected from the victims always find nothing to prove there has been an infection.
Mr. Cosmas Kakuru, a former district councilor for Ruhaama sub county however says the district medical team must not relax but find a strong solution to what is killing children before the infection spreads even to other parts of the sub county and Ntungamo district as a whole.
