PROF. KANYEIHAMBA OPPOSES SALE OF SCHOOL LAND OVER DEBTS
BY VANANSIO MBABAZI
IN KABALE—
A row has erupted between Kabale court bailiffs and Nyaruhanga high
school board of governors over the sale of school land over debts.
Chief Magistrate court in Kabale district issued warrant of attachment
and sale of the land through Sergius Rweyora Orishaba of M/s Rweyora
Auctioneers and High court bailiffs in a letter dated 27th September
2016 for failure to pay 9,156,000 shillings to Denis Byaruhanga.
Denis Byaruhanga dragged Nyaruhanga high school to small claims court
accusing them of failure to pay his money for which he had supplied
the school with posho in 2013 totaling to 9,156,000shillings.
Court in its judgment on 14th July 2015 estimated land at 13 million
shillings and ordered that it should be executed before 28th November
this year.
However in the announcement aired on VOICE OF KIGEZI today morning
and authored by Chairman Board of governors Prof. Justice George
Wilson Kanyeihamba, the school says that the sale of land is illegal
and barbaric. Kanyeihamba adds that Orishaba intends to sell the land
that was sold to school by the late Silva Rweyora his father.
Orishaba admits that the land was sold to the school by his late
father Rweyora but adds that he is implementing a court order because
court wants money recovered. He also adds he has issued many notices
but they were non complaint.
