In Sheema
The Bishop West Ankole Diocese Rt Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has revealed that the diocese for Sheema is in the pipeline but there is a long process they have to follow before it materializes.
He said this yesterday at the installation ceremony of vice chancellor Ankole Western University.
He noted that the request for Sheema to become a diocese was received by the synod and forwarded to a committee responsible.
According to www.mknewslink.com reliable sources, there are divisions within the leaders which will slow down the process because the verification committee will have to first come to Sheema to inquire from people whether they want a diocese or not.
Leaders that include minister Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye,Chris Rwakasisi the senior presidential advisor on security, and Herbert Mugumya who works with American Embassy among others are against the new diocese whereas Yowasi Makalu, Can. David Kabigumira the district chairman and Sam Kahindi the District Service Commission chairman are in support of the diocese.
Our sources noted that because of these two groups, getting a diocese in Sheema will take abit longer.
