Bushenyi district chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba has called upon his councilors to reconcile other than thinking that censure approach will save them.
Jafari said this on 14th January 2019 at 4.30 pm in an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing director.
Sources from the petitioners who are tight lipped revealed that they have raised thirteen signatures out of twenty that are required to convene a council and begin the censure of the district chairman.
The process of collecting signatures from councilors began on Friday 12th January and up to now they havent raised the number of signatures needed.
The censure of the chairman takes a very long time as witnessed in Mitooma when district chairman Karyeija was censured.
After raising signatures which is unlikely according to Jafari because he trusts his councilors, the speaker convenes the council which discusses the censure and the council writes a letter to the minister for local government and the minister writes back by appointing a three men tribunal headed by the judge of the high court.
After appointment the tribunal sits and scrutinizes for three months reasons raised by the petitioners and the tribunal sits and writes a report. If it finds that Jaffari is guilty, the speaker convenes a council and they censure the chairman.
conclusively Jafari calls upon aggrieved councilors to unite and reconcile other than wasting time collecting signatures to censure him.
