FORT PORTAL BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS ARRESTED FOR FIGHTING OVER CHURCH PROPERTY

Christians of Bethsaida church and Jerusalem miracle church in East division Fort portal municipality on Friday exchanged blows over church property.
According to Lydia Tumushabe the Rwenzori west police spokes person, Christians of Bethsaida church owned by the self proclaimed pastor Dan Mubiru and Christians of Jerusalem miracle church owned by Pastor Aisha Nabukera on Friday exchanged blows at Bethsaida church in Bukwali after failing to share church properties.
Lydia said that the two parties have been in disputes for a long period of time over church land.
Some Christians led by Nabukera ran out from their church after knowing that their senior pastor, Dan Mubiru had mortgaged their church land in the bank without their knowledge.
This forced some of the church members to drag the pastor to court whereby on 17th December 2018 the magistrate court in fort portal presided by his worship Arinaitwe Elisha ordered for the closure of the disputed church land.
However on 18th -01-2019 Christians who had moved out from the church led by Nabukera stormed Bethsaida to get some properties claiming that they wanted to share them since they all contributed towards buying them. This led to both parties exchanging blows that attracted police to come and arrest them.
The police spokes person said that they arrested Pastor Dan and others and later granted them bond.
They were charged of affray, disturbing the peace of others or fighting in public.)
