The greater Bushenyi regional police commander Eddie Serunjoji has revealed that car owners should stay calm despite the rampant stealing of vehicle registration numbers.
He said this yesterday in a telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor on the rampant stealing of vehicle registration numbers.
He warned vehicle owners against paying money to the thieves through mobile money .he rather advised them to report and work with police to arrest culprits.
In Bushenyi town four residents have paid between 100,000 and 200,000 to the thieves to recover their registration numbers in the last two weeks.
The residents of Kitookye in Bushenyi accuse the police of not doing its work by arresting the thieves.
Geofrey Twinomugisha the former LCI chairman for central cell in Kitookye who lost 100,000 to the thieves told www.mknewslink.com that he is dissatisfied with police because thieves are working openly but they are not arresting them.
Serunjoji said that people should stay calm and work with police because they have already arrested similar thieves in Rubirizi
