RUKUNGIRI MAN KILLED BY SUSPECTED GRENADE BLAST

Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which one person died on spot when an explosive device blasted.
The deceased was identified as Julius Ahereza aged 18 a resident of Kimanyoha cell Kahoko parish Nyakajeme Subcounty Rukungiri district.
According to police, the incident took place on 29/08/19 at around 4:15pm when Julius was at home collecting rubbish at a mango tree to burn them, when a big blast most likely of a rusty grenade was heard which killed him instantly.
Police was notified, visited the scene and cordoned it as police bomb squad is expected to investigate and establish which type of device it is.
The body of the deceased was taken to Rwakabengo health centre for postmortem as inquiries are underway.
The case was registered at under file CRB 1054/2019 refers.
