TWO KABALE MUNICIPAL COUNCILLORS THREATEN TO DRAG TOWN CLERK TO NAKALEMA OVER ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION IN MAYOR’S GARDENS

Two Kabale Municipality Councillors have petitioned the Town clerk Deo Ndimo over the ongoing illegal construction in the Mayor’s garden.
Richard Muhanguzi the Kirigime Ward municipal Councillor and Alex Nzabarinda, the Upper Bugongi ward Municipal Councillor in their letter dated June 11, 2020, tasked the Town clerk Deo Ndimo to clarify whether there was council resolution to allow the construction.
According to the two, they want him to clarify whether there is; any budget passed by the council, reallocation plan approved by council in respect to the constitution and tell who the contractor of the above-mentioned construction is and how much money was allocated to it.
The petitioners seek to know whether the ongoing construction in the Mayor’s garden green space is being implemented following legal procedures as required by the Local Government Act and other relevant laws governing Local government councils.
Therefore, we are requesting you to clarify to us in writing on the above subject matter within seven (7) days, if not we shall forward these concerns to the office of the anti-corruption unit in the President’s office,’’Reads part of the letter.
The Kabale Municipality Town Clerk Deo Ndimo declined to comment on the matter when contacted.
