COVID 19 ENTERS NRM YELLOW CAMP; TWO SENIOR MEMBERS OF PARTY SECRETARIATE TEST POSITIVE
By Ibrahim Zirimu
The NRM secretary general, Justine Kasule Lumumba on Wednesday afternoon announced that two of their senior members have tested positive for COVID 19.
In a social media post on her official platforms, Lumumba confirmed that two of their members have tested positive for covid 19 and have been admitted in different hospitals.
“This morning, two of our staff at the NRM Secretariate tested positive for COVID 19. They have been admitted to Hospital for proper care. We are working with the technical people and further guidance will be given in due course. I urge everyone to stay alert, healthy and safe,” Lumumba writes on social media.
This comes shortly after the president of Uganda and the NRM party chairman had publically declared that he tested for COVID 19 following covid like symptoms he developed on Sunday but fortunately results came negative.
This comes in a time when many NRM members are trekking to Kyadondo NRM headquarters to pick nomination forms for different posts both in the party leadership and other positions.
COVID 19 now poses a big threat as the numbers rise to 1,140 positive cases with two confirmed deaths.
The deaths include; a 34 years old woman from Namisindwa district and an 80 year old woman form Kisenyi kampala while the ministry is yet to announce the cause of death for a 27 years old man from Namisindwa who collapsed today and showed all covid symptoms.
The president has relaxed most of the lock down measures which were put to maintain the spread of covid 19, but now that it has started claiming lives, we ask what next?
