PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV ACCUSE MINISTER ELIODA OF DIVERTING ARVS FROM HC IV TO HIS PRIVATE ONE, BMC

A group of people living with HIV in Sheema District has petitioned the permanent secretary ministry of health Diana Atwine expressing fear of loosing their lives since they no longer have access to their medicine from municpal health centre IV.

They accuse the current Member of Parliament Hon. Elioda Tumwesigye of using his positions as NRM District Chairperson and minister of science, innovation and technology to divert the Antiretroviral drugs from government hospital to his private owned facility Bushenyi Medical center (BMC)

Patients say that his private clinic BMC is far away from their villages compared to the Health centre IV which has made it much difficult for them to access the drugs especially with this COVID 19 pandemic.
