GEN. SABITI MUTEBILE TERRIBLY LOSES KABALE MUNICIPALITY SEAT AS INCUMBENT WOMAN MP NDAMIRA RETAINS HERS
Rt Maj Gen Sabiiti Timothy Mutebile, The Retired Commander in charge of the engineering brigade under Uganda People defense forces has terribly lost the NRM party flag in kabale municipality
Sabiiti Mutebile , who retired in July this year from UPDF under Engineering bridge lost to Sheik Kassim Kamugisha the Kabale District NRM Youth League Chairperson .
Sheik Kamugisha was declared a winner yesterday afternoon by Kabale district NRM registrar, Maurice Mugenga Keitaba and other officials from the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters at exactly 2:20pm.
According to results read by Kabale district NRM registrar, Maurice Mugenga Keitaba, the Kabale district National Resistance Movement party registrar, Kamugisha polled 5,993 votes while Mutebile had 5,557.
Other candidates in the race were Alex Muhwezi who polled 1352 votes, Kadoi innocent who polled 145 and Joseph Basheija polled only 41votes.
However, yesterday while at the tally center before announcing the winners, confusion erupted after Keitaba declined to declare the fate of elections at Ndorwa prison polling station in southern division where votes didn’t match with the voters.
Keitaba decided to declare Kamugisha after consultations from NRM head offices Kampala and ordered Mutebile who is now a loser to petition if he is not satisfied with the results
Meanwhile, former URA commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance Begumisa Protazio was also declared the winner of the National Resistance Movement-NRM primaries for Ndorwa East County beating the flag bearer Grace Ankunda Bwesigye with a difference of 2224.
In the race for the district Woman Member of Parliament seat, the incumbent, Catherine Akwakire Ndamira who is seeking for the second term of office defeated her main challenger Enid Origumisiriza with 89002 against 48994 votes.
