PRESIDENT MUSEVENI TO IGARA WEST VOTERS: BE INFORMED THAT I DON’T WANT MBWATEKAMWA IN NEXT PARLIAMENT
By Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante
President Museveni told people of Kasambya that he had heard that Mbwatekamwa who has been attacking and abusing him has fled Kasambya and gone back to his home in Ankole.
He warned Igara west voters not to vote Mbwatekamwa but rather prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere.
Museveni said this on Monday this week while campaigning in Greater Mubende, Kasambya constituency which Mbwatekamwa represents in parliament until may 2021.
Mbwatekamwa is the NRM flag bearer for Igara west after Minister Magyezi bowed down and Kabwegyere lost to Mbwatekamwa.
NRM apparatus prefers Kabwegyere the independent candidate to Mbwatekamwa their flag bearer.
In an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor, the incumbent MP who is also the minister for local government Raphael Magyezi advised the people of Igara west that it was too early for them to have accepted Mbwatekamwa who had been rejected by Kasambya people.
Prof. Kabwegyere told www.mknewslink.com in an exclusive interview that he is happy that the president has openly told Igara west voters that Mbwatekamwa is against the NRM party.
Mbwatekamwa was once a coordinator for people power pressure group in Ankole, he was against the amendment of the age limit bill.
He fought in parliament to ensure that the age limit is not removed from the constitution of Uganda such that the president rules until death.
