MBARARA RDC WARNS MAYORAL CANDIDATES NOT TO DARE CAUSE CHAOS DURING TODAY’S ELECTION

Lt. Col James Mwesigye, the Resident District Commissioner for Mbarara district has warned candidates in Mbarara city division mayoral race not to dare cause chaos to disrupt the voting process.
Mwesigye said that they have so far received intelligence led reports of certain groups that want to cause violence in today’s elections for city division mayors and councilors.
He made the remarks yesterday at his offices located in Booma Cell, in Mbarara city.
Mwesigye noted that as security they have deployed heavily allover to ensure sanity during after today’s voting process.
The tight race in Mbarara city North mayoral race is between Brazio Gumisiriza, the incumbent and NRM flag bearer, and Benon Mugume where as in Mbarara city south Mayoral race NRM’s flag bearer Jomo Mugabi is tussling it out with NUP’s Qurish Segawa.
Meanwhile, Mbarara city has registered low voter turn up compared to the previous voting days with most voters noting that they are not interested in today’s polls.
