REV. DUNCANS: I WILL CONTEST FOR ANOTHER TERM AT JUBILEE SACCO AS BOARD CHAIRMAN THOUGH MY TENURE IS OVER

The supposed retiring board chairman for Jubilee SACCO Rev. Duncans Mugumya has vowed to recontest for the board chairmanship after the new law accordingly allowed him to re-contest.

He noted that under the new law, a board member serves for four years after which members can elect him or her to lead them forever.

Sources from the board accuse Rev. Duncans of refusing to organize a scientific Annual General Meeting in November to pass the budget and hence the SACCO has finished a year implementing a budget illegally.  

Rev. Duncans Mugumya’s term ended in Dec. 2019 and the AGM was supposed to take place in April 2020 for him to retire honorably but because of COVID 19 the AGM was postponed to Nov. 2020 though sources allege that Rev. Duncans later blocked it.

However, Duncans told www.mknewslink.com that he never called for an AGM because of the president’s directive on COVID 19.

Sources say that Jubilee SACCO is the only SACCO that did not conduct An Annual General Meeting wondering whether the rest were not affected by COVID 19 as Rev. Duncans claims.

“I will recontest for chairmanship or any other position on the board of Jubilee SACCO because the new law allows me and you know that after the vetting committee interviews, the names are submitted to the bishop, so if he finds me still able, he will approve me,” Rev. Duncans told www.mknewslink.com  

Jubilee SACCO is owned by West Ankole diocese and it is bishop Johnson who has revamped it from the sleeping mood by encouraging Christians to buy shares and as well as church institutions opening accounts and saving money in the SACCO.

Jubilee SACCO has four branches of; Bushenyi main branch, Kabwohe branch, Kashenshero in Mitooma and Ndekye in Rubirizi.

The SACCO has out reaches in Kitagata -Sheema and Bihanga in Buhweju district.
