WOMAN STABS SISTER’S CHILD TO DEATH AFTER DISAGREEMENT OVER FIREWOOD

The Police in Ibanda District have in their cells a woman who allegedly stabbed to death a 4 year old child after a bitter quarrel with his mother.

According to Rwizi Regional Police Mouthpiece ASP Samson Kasasira the suspect is Nyakato a resident of Kanama village, Rwenshambya Parish in Keihangara Sub County in Ibanda District.

Kasasira intimated to www.mknewslink.com  reporter that Nyakato had a misunderstanding with her biological sister Kamuri Rosemary over use of firewood and they fought in the evening.

Geoffrey Keisho a witness, who reported the incident to the Police, said that Kamuri escaped from the scene and run away leaving behind her four year old daughter Kobusingye Alice whom the angry Nyakato picked a kitchen knife and stabbed killing her instantly.

Kasasira noted that Nyakato was arrested by the residents who handed her over to the Police at Keihangara while the body of the deceased was taken to Ruhoko Health Center III for a postmortem .

The case of murder was opened at Ibanda District Police Station pending investigations.
