RUKUNGIRI WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE OVER HUSBAND’S ALLEGED ADULTERY

Residents of Runyinya/Kinombe village, Eastern division in Rukungiri Municipality were on Sunday thrown into shock after one of the residents committed suicide by poisoning.

The deceased Dorothy Natukunda 18, a house wife took poison after allegedly finding his husband Amos Nyesiga seated with unidentified woman in a bar at Rwabuteneka trading centre.

Natukunda left the husband home with their child only to return at around 2am in unconscious state, smelling unidentified poison and upon checking, the husband recovered half tablet of the bean weevil poison from the deceased’s jumper.

It’s alleged that the wife slept on the carpet vomiting while the husband and the child were on the bed until 4am when she was pronounced dead by their closest neighbor.

The Regional PRO told our reporter that the deceased’s body was taken to Rwakabengo Health Center IV for postmortem and inquiries are underway.

The case of suicide by suspected poisoning has been registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference CRB 1155/2021.
