URA IMPOUNDS NEW CANCER MACHINE OVER UN PAID TAXES

Uganda Revenue Authority has impounded the newly bought cancer machine over unpaid taxes, www.mknewslink.com reporter from Kampala reveals.
The new cancer machine was supposed to be unveiled today Aug. 16, 2017 at the Uganda Cancer Institute by the minister of Health Hon. Ruth Aceng.
Ministry of health officials have revealed that Uganda Cancer Institute is doing whatever they can to clear all the required taxes such that the machine can be installed at the institute.
www.mknewslink.com understands that the Shs1.8billion cancer machine was supposed to be installed in June but there were some unavoidable delays.
Uganda’s only radiotherapy machine broke down in March last year, leaving nearly 2,000 patients without any proper treatment.
Over 400 cancer patients were taken to the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya for better management of the illness.
