RUKUNGIRI WOMAN KILLS OWN TWINS AS FAMINE BITES

Police in Rukungiri is hunting for a woman alleged to have killed her own 9 month old twins due to food crisis.

Sarah Monday, 28 who hails from Bushenyi but a resident of Kagarama cell, Bwanda parish, Buhunga Sub County, killed her twins on Monday afternoon 18^th September.

According to Kasoga Sylivia, the officer in charge of investigations at Rukungiri police station Monday killed her twins; Nyangoma and Nyakato after she failed to get food to feed them.

“Our preliminary investigations show that Monday who has three children one boy and the twins killed them after she failed to get food to feed them” She confirmed to www.mknewslink.com.

The father of the twins has been identified as Francis Monday who allegedly left his home two years ago.

Henry Turyamureba the grand of the deceased twins says that her daughter in law has been a habitual thief of crops in the village and residents had been beating her every the time.

“My son left her in 2015 since then he has never returned to check or even send anything for the children” he told www.mknewslink.com.

The incident comes at the heels of a heavy dry spell that hit the district of Rukungiri and claimed lives of five people.
