THREE KIDNAPPERS SHOT DEAD IN MBARARA.

Security operatives on Monday, through an intelligence led operation shot dead three assailants who had kidnapped Pastor Mary Barisya whom they kidnapped from Gomba district for a ransom of ugx.30 million on 06th.Feb,2023.

The deceased were identified as Andrew Behakanira alias Bashir and two are yet to be identified assailants.

In a press release, ASP Samson kasasira the Rwizi police Spokesperson confirmed the incidence, noting that the trio were tracked down along Mbarara-Ibanda road at Ruhumba-Rubindi Town council, Mbarara district on Monday 13th Feb 2023 at around 07:00Pm.

Kasasira says the assailants were intercepted traveling in a motor vehicle registration number UAZ 935N Toyota Premio.

He adds that on efforts to apprehend them, the assailants resisted arrest by grabbing their guns which prompted the officers to shoot at the assailants killing them instantly.

The police spokesperson says that the bodies of the deceased were taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary pending postmortem and identification.

Kasasira adds that the victim Pastor Mary Barisya is undergoing medical examination before reuniting with her family.
