CONFIRMATION BY BISHOP JOHNSON: WHY ONLY HIS CONFIRMANTS COVER HEADS WITH PIECES OF CLOTH UNLIKE OTHER DIOCESES IN UGANDA?

West Ankole diocesan Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni is the only Bishop of the church of Uganda who confirms Christians into Anglican faith without physically touching their heads.
The confirmants must first buy a plastic like piece of cloth such that the man of God doesnot touch and feel the body heads of the Christians.

When Bishop Johnson took over office of west Ankole diocese close to seven years ago, he spent five years without demanding a confirmants to cover their heads before he could confirm them.
However, when he took over office, he tried radical changes in the process of Christians getting confirmed for example himself questioning confirmants which was not the case before with his predecessors as well as compared to other dioceses. He could turn away confirmants and miss on being confirmed.

He abandoned all that after too much pressure from Christians in west Ankole diocese and the province of the church of Uganda. Now in the last two years he has invented head clothes not to touch and feel heads of confirmants.

Bishop Johnson being a man of particular, he says according to a credible source, jellies that confirmants smear themselves on the heads and bodies make him uncomfortable whereas other Bishops in Uganda are comfortable touching and feeling the bodies of their Christians.
Today Oct 1, 2023, Bishop Johnson confirmed over 800 confirmants at all saints greater Bushenyi Archdeaconry but all of them covered their heads with pieces of clothes in form of huts.
